The Larder Samui

Address: 9/144 Moo 2, Chaweng, Bophut, Ko Samui 84140, Thailand

Fancy some British food? Then head to The Larder Samui. This is a very stylish restaurant in Chaweng and has been making noise since it opened. Cozy yet streamlined interiors plus mouthwatering food are the strengths of The Larder, making it one of the popular restaurants in Koh Samui. This is more on the pricey side of the scale but the presentation of the food, the ambience, and the excellent service make the money worth it.

The menu is very exciting with a lot of novel offerings. Some of the most raved about dishes are the ribs, truffle oil chips, and the scallops. Basically anything you can find on their specials board is worth a shot. Other must tries are the mussels, peanut butter martini, the pan fried sea bass, as well as the Wagyu. A good starter meal if you woke up late for an early breakfast is their Bandito Breakfast. This is loaded with yumminess from the beans, guacamole, to the crispy chips. Overall, you will adore this place and if you want to impress someone, you can’t lose with something like The Larder.

Good Food Restaurant

Address: 39/35 Moo 3, Bophut, Ko Samui 84320, Thailand

The name says it all. Craving for good food at an affordable price? This low key dining place in Bophut is truly worth a shot. To start with, they serve some of the most amazing sushis you can find locally. This is an Asian-European restaurant that has gained popularity because of its delicious meals, particularly its Japanese dishes. They also serve Western staples such as steaks, hearty soups and fresh salads, as well as pasta. The place is pretty simple—basic al fresco and interiors. Nothing fancy but you will love the food for sure. What we love about Good Food is that they seem to make popular favorites even more exciting. We love their classic sushis but we also can’t get enough of their battered sushi and sushi-burrito. They also serve delicious shrimp tempura and refreshing bubble tea. Among the must-tries here are the sushi platter, crispy, their steak, and of course the bubble tea.

Mr. Eung Restaurant

Fans of hole in the wall dining places should definitely visit Mr. Eung Restaurant. This has an amazing reputation for serving some of the best local food on the island. When you try dining here, you will realize one thing: the food they serve is made with love. Every dish that comes out of their kitchen is mouthwatering, which is why most of its diners are repeat customers. We will bet good money that once you tried it here, you will be back for more.

The portion sizes here are pretty generous and there is emphasis on the use of the best local ingredients. You will have a hard time picking just one favorite since everything is really impressive from their simple fried fish, seafood dishes, and even their sweets.

A simple but tasty dish is the grilled prawns. This is amazing because the supporting flavors are not that overpowering and the seafood is fresh so you get to taste that delectable shrimp flavor in every bite. Speaking of prawns, their fried prawns with chili are finger licking good. Seriously, this is the bomb. We also love their grilled squid. It is so good when eaten with rice and a curry dish. Another goodie is the steamed mussel with white wine sauce. Again, you can taste that unique sea salty flavor with this offering.

Their fish dishes are also recommended. There are so many yummy ones that again, you will be hard pressed to find just one to like. Might as well try them all. The deep fried fish with green mango salad is perfect on its own but if you want it to be a bulkier meal, eat it with steamed rice. The fried fish with sweet and sour sauce is also excellent. This is best eaten with rice too. For meat fans, you may want to sample their duck dishes. Their fried duck with ginger is a winner in our books. This is something you’d crave often if you love oriental flavors.

Apart from the ones mentioned, Mr. Eung also has plenty of salads and vegetarian friendly dishes. Local beers like Singha are served in the house too. Their cocktails and fruit shakes are quite popular among diners as well. For More information about restaurants in Samui, visit
